Where We Work
Molo, Kenya
Molo is located in Kenya, in the heart of the fertile Rift Valley. It belongs to the Nakuru district and is 2,000 meters above sea level.
It has a significant ethnic and cultural diversity (inhabitants of Molo represents the 42 tribes of Kenya). The farms in the area are so rich in resources that they can not only feed many people in Kenya, but also the neighbor countries such as Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan or Ethiopia.
In 1992, 1997 and 2008, this area suffered several ethnic conflicts and although the conflicts have now ended, the problems derived from them still continue. Many people left their farms and relocated to Molo. The influence of the refugees has created a tremendous shortage in the already limited resources (water, houses, medical care, schooling and employment opportunities)
