Our desire is to take care for the less fortunate we witnessed how children were suffering after being abandoned by their parents due to excess drinking or poverty and orphans who were left destitute after the death of their parents. we felt in our heart that all the hurting children should be taken care of by the government, yet nobody cared about them. It is because of this situation that we vowed in our heart that we would not live to see a child suffer after losing parents but would accommodate and live with them

Our Mission
It started in late 90s as a feeding programme whereby we borrowed foods and clothing from local well wishers and gave to the needy children. After 2008 post elections our eyes opened and we identified urgent need in the society to care for many children who are left without parents and homes. We took 11 needy children and sheltered them in an house 8girls and 3 boys In 2010 we realized those children and many others at our reach needed more than only feeding. We started Shakinah children Centre where we started offering education alongside other basic needs in order to make these children reliable citizens in future.

Our Mission
We vacated to a spacious land in March 2014, at Kibunja Molo where we started paying in phases to own the land. We started growing drastically and we have now grown to a population of over 200 kids. We are focused in offering quality education, feeding, clothing, sheltering and transform these children in all areas of life and make them reliable in future .
